On the walls of the two wings of the pylon, in perfect symmetry, are two scenes of worship and offerings to the god Aton by Akhenaten, Nefertiti and Meritaton, one of the daughters of the royal couple. Akhenaten wears the blue crown and is making offerings to the god Aton. Nefertiti is behind him, in the same attitude. The sun rays emanating from Aton end in hands that in some cases hold out the ankh (life) symbol to the characters.
