Akhenaten and Nefertiti in adoration of Aton

The scene depicts the royal family, Akhenaten, Nefertiti and two of their daughters, in adoration of Aton. At the top right is the solar disc, its rays spreading across the scene and ending with small hands, some of which bear the symbols was (power) and ankh (life). Akhenaten wears the Blue Crown (Khepresh) and a pleated skirt, he is dedicating altars with offerings and lotus and papyrus flowers to Aton. Behind him, Nefertiti wears a long semi-transparent gown, a large wig and a diadem composed of a frieze of urei and the sun disk surrounded by bovine horns and surmounted by two tall feathers. Behind the queen are two young daughters of the couple, Meritaton and Maketaton. Both wear a long dress similar to the queen's. The eldest (right) holds a sistrum, the figure of the younger daughter is badly damaged. On the surface of the block, between the figures, signs of a grid drawn in red are visible, probably used in the artist's construction of the scene.
