Relief from the Temple of Seth at Naqada (detail)

The relief originally belonged to the temple of Seth near Naqada/Nubt erected by Tuthmosi I. Below the winged sun, the god Seth, on either side of the cartouche containing the ruler's pre-name (Aa-Kheper-ka-Ra), hands the symbols ankh and was to the falcon Horo. Through this gesture Seth of Nubt bestows life and power on the king, whose 'name of Horo' is contained within the serekh surmounted by the falcon with the Double Crown.
