Statuina di Sesostri I o Amenemhat II

The small wooden sculpture, placed on a parallelepiped base, depicts an incedent pharaoh. It was found in a private tomb of a chancellor of Sesostri I (named Imhotep). The right arm is stretched across the body, the left is bent forward and the hand holds a long staff with the curved top of the heqa sceptre. The ruler wears the White Crown of Upper Egypt and wears a pleated skirt. He may represent Sesostri I or Amenemhat II.
