Statue of Rahotep from Meidum. Rahotep was a 4th dynasty prince, possibly the son of Snefru. This group was found at Meidum by Auguste Mariette. Both figures are seated. Rahotep has short hair and a moustache, wears a single thread necklace with a heart-shaped amulet and a white skirt. His skin is rendered in a reddish-brown colour generally used for men. Her name and titles are inscribed in black hieroglyphics on the back of her chair. The statue has set eyes. The white part of the eye is made of opaque quartz, the cornea of transparent rock crystal and the pupil of black impasto.
