Statuette of a servant plucking a goose, found inside a mastaba at Saqqara and part of a series of statuettes of servants representing crafts. The man is kneeling with his right leg brought to his chest. He wears a white skirt and has short hair that leaves his ears uncovered. The skin, as for all male figures, is coloured with ochre. In front of him is a small table where a slain goose lies. The offering of the goose is among the most significant and was made for both the gods and the dead. It represented both the god Amun as a symbol of life force and the god Seth to represent the sacrificed enemy.
