Treasure of Tutankhamun. Necklace with solar boat-shaped breastplate

Necklace with pectoral in the shape of a solar boat, found inside an ebony and ivory container with a hieratic inscription on the lid indicating its contents. The scene on the pectoral depicts a beetle on a solar boat pushing a solar disc above its head, while its hind legs rest on the hieroglyphic shen. The entire figure represents Khepri, the symbol of the sun god and eternal rebirth. On either side of the scarab, two baboons in hieratic posture above the roof of small sacs decorated with the symbols of the ankh and was and a crescent moon disc on their heads, are paying homage to the rising sun. The entire scene is within a frame formed by a starry sky at the top, the representation of water at the bottom, and two was sceptres closing the sides. The necklace consists of two parallel rows decorated with apotropaic figures and amulets placed symmetrically. Two figures of the god Heh are placed at the base of the necklace, while the same god is also found on the clasp, flanked by two urei.
