Treasure of Tutankhamun. Collar of the Two Ladies (Uadjet and Nekhbet)

The two ladies are the goddesses Uadjet and Nekhbet symbolised by the uraeus and the vulture. The scene depicts the two goddesses together, a single pair of outstretched wings and a single leg of the vulture. All collars of a certain weight have a counterweight, called a menkhet, which rests on the back and keeps the jewel in a stable position: the one belonging to the collar of the Two Ladies is bell-shaped. |
