Treasure of Tutankhamun. Collar of the Two Ladies (Uadjet and Nekhbet)

The two ladies are the goddesses Uadjet and Nekhbet symbolised by the uraeus and the vulture. The scene depicts the two goddesses together, a single pair of wings spread and a single leg of the vulture. All collars of a certain weight are fitted with a counterweight, called a menkhet, which rests on the back and keeps the jewel in a stable position: this is shaped like a bell.
