Treasure of Tutankhamun. Funerary bed with the goddess Mehet-Ueret on either side

The lioness goddess to whom this funerary bed is dedicated is identified in the text written on the bar joining the two heads as Mehet-ueret, who in the pantheon of Egyptian deities was depicted as a heifer. Some details are in blue glass paste for the nose and the teardrops under the eyes, and black for the outline of the eyes. Detail of the lion's head.
