Khonsu Ushabti container (detail)

Detail of a painted face of the ushabti box from the tomb of Sennedjem at Deir el Medina. The wooden box has a double-vaulted top, bordered by two vertical panels, and the four side walls are adorned with brightly painted designs, depicting Khonsu both alive and mummified. The depiction shows Khonsu and his wife sitting next to each other, in the typical costumes of the Ramesside era, both with a cone of ointment on their heads.
