Iside-Selket

The goddess is formed by the combination of Isis and the scorpion goddess Selket. The identification comes from the covering formed by a throne (Isis) with the decoration of a scorpion (Selket). The goddess is kneeling just as Isis is kneeling in the presence of Osiris who died mourning him. An image of Osiris is on the goddess' knees. Isis and Selket were both guardians of the royal sarcophagus and canopic jars together with Nephthys and Neith
