Basin with boat from Tutankhamun's tomb

Detail of a basin with boat from Tutankhamun's tomb. On the basin, decorated with floral and geometric motifs, rests a boat with two ibex heads with ears and horns, stern and bow, both looking in the same direction. At the prow is a representation of a naked woman with a lotus in her left hand. Behind her a canopus is supported by four columns with composite capitals in the form of lotus flowers and papyruses. The columns are joined by four walls to represent a cabin or sarcophagus with floral and geometric motifs and which must have served to hold oils and ointments. At the prow is a figure of a dwarf-woman. On the short sides of the basin are cartouches of the king and his wife.
