Funerary papyrus of the Priest of Khonsu Nesperennub

Nesperennub was a priest of the cult of Khonsu and served at the temple of Karnak around 800 BC. In this detail of the papyrus the deceased stands before Osiris and performs worship and offerings. The god is depicted mummiformly with an Atef crown with horns and three sceptres, the hekat, the nekhekh and a staff formed by the djed pillar symbol of stability, and the sceptre was symbol of power and dominion.
