The object, fixed to a simple rectangular base, consists of a vessel supported on its shoulders by a servant stooped under the weight of the load; pleated skirt; the vessel is a faithful replica in miniature of the Syrian amphorae, high and wide necked, bulging underneath, above a long loop, the lid is a curved disc attached to the loop with a cord sealed with clay and decorated with a calf inlaid in the wood with ivory, on the side stylised chequered, geometric and floral decorative motifs, in the belly a frieze with three calves prancing among the trees
