Outer sarcophagus of Sepi. Interior wall

Inner wall of the outer sarcophagus of General Sepi (the outer sarcophagus is rectangular, the inner sarcophagus is anthropoid); there are painted offering formulas and excerpts from the collection of funerary texts (Texts of the Sarcophagi), which were meant to enable the deceased to face the journey to the Afterlife and ensure his or her afterlife destiny; ointment jars, a linen bag, two headrests, two pieces of cloth and a lamp with a burning flame; the lower part is occupied by a funerary text called the Book of Two Roads and a representation of the afterlife with a series of concentric oval elements in the centre of which the god of the dead, Osiris, is seated on a throne.
