Anthropoid sarcophagus of Yuya

the pearl necklace recalls floral motifs with hawk-headed clasps at the ends; underneath is a vulture, clutching in its talons the hieroglyphic shen, the coiled rope symbolising all that the sun can encircle and illuminate; the sky goddess Nut, with her arms raised upwards, standing on the hieroglyphic of gold, occupies the lower part of Yuya's body and has a robe with a reticulated motif; and the goddess Isis, kneeling on the hieroglyphic of gold, stands under the feet of the deceased; on the inside of the lid is a second figure of the goddess Nut; in the lower shaft are deities protecting the deceased (Thot, Anubis and the four sons of Horus); on the left side are a pair of eyes above the shrine, allowing the deceased to see outside; inside the lower shaft is also Nut, above his head is engraved a variant of Chapter 166 of the Book of the Dead, whose function is to protect the head of the deceased.
