Tuya Jewellery Box

The fine workmanship of the casket, the absence of a specific mention of Tuya and the inscriptions relating to Amenhotep III and his consort Teye indicate that the casket was a product of the royal workshops, made for the queen herself; on the lid, the names of Amenhotep III enclosed within the cartouche and surmounted by a double feather and the sun disc; below is Heh, the god of millions of years who sits on the gold hieroglyph and holds the palm branch symbolising the year; the entire composition is therefore intended to wish the ruler a lasting reign.
