Canopy cover of Asetemakhbyt

This part of the curtain that covered the catafalque under which Asetemakhbyt's sarcophagus was laid is connected to four sheets made of pieces of leather sewn together that formed the letheral cover of the canopy. The top of each cloth is decorated with the characteristic pattern of khekeru signs. Immediately below is a panelled frieze depicting in succession a winged scarab grasping the sun disc in its forepaws, two papyruses and an antelope kneeling on the neb sign. The underside of each cloth features a green and red chequered motif.
