Bracelet clasps of Princess Khnumit

The twin clasps are composed of a thin gold frame on the long sides of which run, within small grooves, flat gold bars. The entire frame is dominated by a large image of the hieroglyphic sign sa, a symbol of protection. The sign possibly represents a folded mat, part of the equipment of shepherds who used it to protect themselves from the wind: hence the apotropaic significance; small panther head
