Bed of Hetepheres

Hetepheres' bed, intended to be placed under the precious gilded wooden canopy, was part of the queen's rich burial outfit. The outer surface of the panel retains the natural colour of the wood. There are two long side bars ending in the stylised outline of a papyrus, the feet are in the shape of a lion's paw on a small cylinder, at the side of the feet is a wooden panel decorated with feathers and three rosettes
