Necklace with breastplate in the name of Sesostri II

It is made of a strand of drop-shaped pearls, alternating and divided by spherical gold beads. The rectangular pectoral is modelled in imitation of a chapel surmounted by an Egyptian throat. On the inside, two falcons are depicted, with double crowns on their heads and resting on the hieroglyphic nub (gold, referring to one of the five titles, golden Horus, that were awarded to each pharaoh upon ascension to the throne); above, the royal cartouche features the coronation name of the sovereign Khakheperra; in the centre, a solar disc from which hangs the uraeus that bears the hieroglyphic ankh around its neck; all these inscriptions suggest that this object must have been a gift from Sesostri to his daughter.
