Rameses II massacres a Nubian in front of Amun (detail)

Rameses II wears the Double Crown and is depicted in the act of striking a Nubian enemy with a mace that he holds in his left hand (raised above his head). The ruler is carrying a quiver over his shoulder and with his right hand is clutching his bow and holding the prisoner by the hair, kneeling before him in an attitude of submission (not visible). On the right, behind Rameses, Nefertari watches the scene. The queen wears a long semi-transparent dress, a short wig and the Hathorica crown, formed by the sun disk and cow horns surmounted by two tall feathers.
