Rameses II massacres a Libyan (detail)

Rameses II wears the Double Crown and is depicted in the act of striking an enemy Libyan with a mace that he holds in his left hand (raised above his head). The ruler carries a quiver on his shoulder and with his right hand clasps the bow and holds the prisoner by the hair, kneeling before him in an attitude of submission. On the left, behind Rameses, Nefertari watches the scene. The queen wears a long semi-transparent dress, a long wig and the Hathorica crown, formed by the sun disk and cow horns surmounted by two tall feathers.
