General frontal view at night of the façade of the rock temple dedicated to Hathor and Nefertari at Abu Simbel. In the centre is the entrance gate to the temple. On either side of it, set in niches carved into the rock, are six colossal statues depicting Ramses II and Nefertiti (with some of their children, represented on a smaller scale next to their parents' legs). The lintel and the sloping buttresses separating the niches feature hieroglyphic inscriptions with the royal titles of the rulers.
