The Royal Ka of Ay

The royal ka of Ay. It wears the serekh on its head, a kind of enclosure representing the façade of a palace. On the inside was inscribed the pharaoh's name Horus. The emblem is surrounded by the two arms of the ka sign and surmounted by a falcon with a white Upper Egyptian crown. An uraeus is placed in front of the bird of prey. The ka was believed to be the life essence of a person.
