Book of the Earth: raising the sun

Book of the Earth. Above. The earth god Aker represented as a double sphinx between the personifications of the entrance and exit of the realm of the dead. Above him is the solar boat with the sun god with a ram's head. Below is the solar disc and the resurrection of the sun's body lying on the ground. It represents both Osiris and Ra. Twelve stars and twelve discs emerge from the solar disc. On either side are two figures of Osiris. Bottom. Sun god with ram-headed sun god (nocturnal form) receiving homage from scarab-headed deities (diurnal form) and ithyphallic god represented in his cave surrounded by twelve goddesses of the stars and time. The entire scene is surrounded by a large serpent, the Mehen. On the right a head and a pair of arms emerge from the depths. The arms support two goddesses called West and East. Above the head is one called the Annihilator with her arms raised lifting a sun disc. The arms are flanked by three mummies.
