Book of the Earth: the birth of the sun and scenes of punishment

Book of the Earth. Above. Solar disc flanked by two uraeus and four divine figures, three with human heads and one with a ram's head. They grasp a serpent emerging from the top of the solar disc, perhaps symbolising rebirth and regeneration. A head of Hathor emerges from the disc at the top. In the centre A winged scarab with a small solar disc emerges from a larger solar disc to indicate the birth of the sun. It is flanked by two praying urai and some burials with mummies inside. A deity with a ram's head and holding a sceptre was and an ankh lies between these burials. Bottom Register reserved for the punishment of enemies in the Place of Annihilation. Two goddesses with hands over a heart are flanked by two deities with knives in front of two cauldrons supported by two arms. Inside these are heads and body parts of enemies. Underneath them fire springs from a head.
