Book of Doors. Twelfth Hour. The sun god arrives at the gate through which he will be reborn. In the upper register some deities carry sun discs and are preceded by goddesses, seated on serpents, with stars. In the middle register the sun boat is drawn by deities and preceded by others with knives to protect the god from Apopi who is chained here so that he cannot prevent the birth of the sun. Behind him are four baboons announcing the rebirth of the sun. In the lower register several deities wear the crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt.
