General view of the burial chamber of Amenhotep II: the pillars

The burial chamber is divided into two levels: an upper part with six pillars and a lower part where the yellow quartzite sarcophagus of Amenhotep II is located inside a hole in the floor. There are four side chambers. The walls are decorated with scenes from the Amduat where images and texts are executed in cursive script imitating funerary papyri. The pillars are decorated with representations of the pharaoh together with Osiris, Hathor and Anubis.
