The Ritual of the Opening of the Mouth

Tutankhamun's successor, Ay, clad in a leopard skin and the Khepresh, performs the mouth-opening ritual on the king's body represented as an Osiris; in the centre Tutankhamun, dressed in a wig, diadem, large usekh necklace and white skirt, stands before the sky goddess Nut who welcomes him into the Duat.
