The king between the goddess Hathor and Anubis

The king, wearing the Khat on his head, is welcomed into the otherworldly world by the goddess Hathor and Anubis, the jackal-headed embalming god. Behind him, in the portion of the wall destroyed during the second excavation campaign by Carter's workmen, was the goddess Isis, depicted in the act of greeting the sovereign in an attitude similar to that of the goddess Nut on the north wall, and three gods of the Underworld. This scene was probably painted last, after the shrines had already been set up, which is why the figures painted on the south wall have different proportions to the others.
