Ramesses III and Thoth

Ramesses III offers two jars of wine to the god Thot, the wise man, sage and vizier of Ra and patron of scribes. Here, the god-ibis is represented with a disc and lunar crescent, underlining his link with Iah, the moon, whose cult was widespread on the western shore of Thebes, the necropolis area.
