Khnum

The god Khnum, represented as a ram-headed man, was a creator-god: with his potter's wheel he created man by modelling him in clay. The figures created by Khnum were always two, as the creation of the human being was always followed by that of his Ka, the spiritual element understood as 'the life force of man'. Worshipped especially in Elephantine, he was also the tutelary god of those who resided in the region of the cataracts, 'the guardian of the sources of the Nile'.
