Winged solar disc

Lintel decorated at the top by the khekeru frieze, a stylisation of vegetal bundles or mats that covered the walls of dwellings, and at the bottom by the solar disc flanked by two large multicoloured wings. Depicted on portals, it had the task of warding off evil powers from sacred places. The solar disc with two urai and falcon wings is the symbol of Horo of Behedet, the Egyptian name of a place in the Delta where the cult of the god originated.
