Bidders and complainers

Lower register, right: sterns of three boats with their rudders decorated with a lotus flower motif. On the boat in the foreground four rowers are visible. Behind them is the cabin in the boat, richly decorated. Lower register, left: boat with papyrus ends. On the stern is a helmsman, in the centre is a rectangular structure (perhaps the outer sarcophagus) and, in front of this, three female figures in mourning attitudes. Next to the structure is another figure with an arm raised towards it. On the prow is a kneeling male figure holding a rope tied to the back of the boat on the right. Upper register: detail of a long parade of bearers of food and furnishings useful to the deceased in the afterlife, all are wearing white skirts, some have short wigs, others are shaven. Among the goods carried: lotus and papyrus plants, loaves of bread, baskets of fruit and vases.
