The falcon-headed god Horo oversees the ceremony of the 'weighing of the heart'. The heart of the deceased, in this case Menna, is placed by Horo on one plate of the scales, while on the other is placed the effigy of the goddess Maat (personification of justice, truth and cosmic order), depicted seated and with a feather on her head.
