Measuring fields and grain (detail)

Lower sub-register: scene for measuring the quantity of grain produced, which is piled up in the centre. The measurement takes place in the presence of eight scribes, who record the results. One of them is sitting on a heap of grain. Upper sub-register: scene of the measurement of a field to determine the portion of the harvest to be given to the temple of Amun. In the centre is an attendant holding one end of the measuring rope, the rest of the rope is held around his arm and in his left hand. Behind him is a man leaning on a sceptre was and holding his hand on the head of a child, a scribe stands on the left. In front of the man with the rope is a man with a bundle of wheat and a conical bread followed by a woman carrying containers.
