Ceiling of the Funeral Chamber (detail)

Detail of the ceiling of the Funeral Chamber. The ceiling of this room is characterised by different types of decoration, with plant and geometric motifs. Here, the surface is characterised by a decoration reminiscent of a carpet or fabric: the pattern is chequered, with ochre, red and black squares alternating with white ones. Inside each square is an 'X' drawn in a colour contrasting with that of the filling. The ceiling has not been levelled and retains an irregular pattern that accentuates the undulating effect of a fabric hanging from the ceiling.
