Inherkau worshipping in front of the Benu bird.

Scene on the left wall of the burial chamber of the Inherkau tomb. It shows the deceased worshipping the bird benu, the phoenix, in front of which a basket with fruit and bread can be seen. The bird is a heron characterised by two long feathers on its head: as a sign of its divine nature it wears the atef crown. The benu is considered to be the soul of Ra or Osiri.
