Khaemhat oversees the measurement of the fields (detail)

On the left is Khaemhat, in his role as Supervisor of the Royal Granaries, assisting with the measuring of the fields. He wears a wig, a skirt knotted at the waist and a long semi-transparent garment with short sleeves. In his left hand he holds the sceptre Sekhem, a symbol of authority. In the side registers there are some figures connected with the activities of measuring the fields (they carry tools and ropes) and scribes, who note down the results.
