Detail of the throne of Amenhotep III

Detail of the throne on which sits the ruler Amenhotep III, at whose court Khaemhat performed the function of Royal Scribe and Supervisor of the Royal Granaries. The armrest of the throne is decorated with the image of a sphinx with the head of Amenhotep III trampling an enemy. Behind the sphinx, above papyrus stalks, is the goddess Wadjet in the form of a winged cobra with the Red Crown (Desheret) of Lower Egypt.
