Gatekeepers from the Book of the Dead

One of the doors in chapter 144 of the Book of the Dead. The door, in gold and red, is followed by three figures identified as the keeper, the guardian and the messenger. The first has a ram's head, red-brown skin and holds a branch in his right hand and a knife in his left hand. She wears a green dress with a white and gold skirt. The second is a female figure with an animal's head. She wears a red dress and holds an ankh in her right hand and a knife in her left. The last, also a female character, has a human head and dresses as usual, clutching an ankh in both hands. On the right is visible the cobra goddess of Lower Egypt Wadjet wearing a double crown and depicted on a basket supported by a double djed pillar, and part of the first western ankh.
