Talatat at Amenhotep IV/Akhenaton

Decorated sandstone block (talatat). Only fragments of the scenes are visible. On the left is the ruler Akhenaten/Amenhotep IV, wearing the headdress Khat, making offerings to the solar disc, the rays of which end in hands are visible. Behind the king is a smaller female figure (the ruler's mother, Tiy) wearing a headdress with two tall feathers. On the right the king has his arms raised towards the sun rays and wears the Red Crown of Lower Egypt. The talatat still retains part of its original colour.
