Kamose Stele (detail of the lower part)

Second stele of Kamose, considered the last ruler of the 18th dynasty (and the Second Intermediate Period). The stele continues the account of Kamose's military campaigns against the Hyksos ruler Apophis begun in an earlier stele. Here, Kamose's final victory is described and celebrated. The erection of the stele in the temple of Karnak was commissioned to a court official named Neshy, depicted in the lower left-hand corner of the slab.
