Ramesses III in an act of adoration

Detail. Ramesses III, in the act of adoration, wears the red crown, Deshret, symbol of Lower Egypt, on his head. This headdress is attested since the Predynastic Period, when it was the typical ornament of the rulers of the Sais region, in the Delta, and was also the emblem of the goddess Neith.
