The Sanctuary of Serapis stands within a rectangular courtyard with two porticoed wings on either side. All that remains of the temple, in front of which stood the altar (of which the base remains), are the entrance steps, two of the four columns that decorated the front and the beautiful opus sectile flooring of the cella.
