A scene from the funeral procession of the mastaba of Qar. The funeral procession started from the house of the deceased to the house of purification, immediately afterwards a boat was transported to the house for embalming. Three figures are shown here: on the left a reader-priest, in front of him a man and a woman recite ritual formulas as shown by their hands placed in front of their mouths. Between them is a small table with offerings. Both express mourning through gestures and posture.
