Agora quarter, detail

The Agora consists of two terraces, the lower one to the north, where the oldest aulé stood, and the higher one to the south, built from the Hellenistic period onwards. The two terraces are divided by a wide street, an eastward extension of the Skyrotà . In the Eastern Quarter were raised the architectural complex of the Caesarean Gymnasium, also known as the Ptolemaion, and Theatre 3, erected after the Judaic revolt of 115-117 BC.
