Ginnasio-Cesareo

The Caesarean Gymnasium, built in a phase of profound renovation of the Hellenistic city, occupied three interior blocks and its layout determined a regular layout of the area. Annexed to the Hellenistic Gymnasium was the Xystos, a covered track for athletic exercises; the façade was decorated with the herms of Heracles and Hermes, the protectors of sport.
